What is a .AXD file?
The most common data format on the web.
An AXD is not a file you can open - it is a virtual URL endpoint on a Microsoft IIS web server running classic ASP.NET. The common ones are WebResource.axd and ScriptResource.axd (which deliver embedded scripts and images) and Trace.axd (diagnostics). If a browser saved something named .axd, it is just whatever the server returned - usually JavaScript - and you can open it in a text editor or rename it to .js.
