What is a .FTS file?
An FTS file is a FITS (Flexible Image Transport System) astronomical image — the standard scientific format used by NASA and professional observatories since 1982. Open it with DS9 or AvisFV (both free); standard image viewers show a black screen because FITS uses 32/64-bit floating-point pixels that require histogram scaling before display.
