What is a .LIT file?
The open standard for reflowable e-books.
A LIT file is a Microsoft Reader e-book, a format Microsoft discontinued on August 30, 2012. The original Microsoft Reader app no longer works, and its DRM license servers are offline. For DRM-free LIT files, Calibre (free, open-source) opens and converts them. DRM-protected LIT files are effectively inaccessible because the servers needed to verify them shut down over a decade ago.
